1963 – The Mukhtar Auezov house-museum, today a scientific and cultural center, the Auezov house is inaugurated in the city of Almaty. It is the house where the writer lived between 1951 and 1961 and completed the epic of the Chemin d’Abai.
1992 – The museum of the eminent Kazakh poet, writer and translator Moukagali Makatayev is opened in the village of Karasaz, district of Narynkol, region of Almaty.
2007 – Kazakhstan joins the International Union of Judicial Officers as an associate member during the ceremony held in Paris.
2009 – The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization declares the city of Almaty the City of Islamic Culture 2015.
2012 – The State Commission responsible for the preparation and holding of the International Exhibition EXPO 2017 is set up.
2015 – The Turkish International Academy receives observer status at ISESCO.
2015 – The city of Almaty is organizing the presentation of the type 1 eco-labeling program ECOTANBA – the first and only voluntary certification system for environmentally friendly products, services and processes in Kazakhstan.
2018 – The international news agency Kazinform and the Astana TV channel are making a documentary series Unique Kazakhstan.
2020 – Adilkhan Yerzhanov’s film Ulbolsyn was named Best Asian Film and won the NETPAC Prize at the 24th Tallinn Film Festival.
