North Bend Film Festival Announces 2020 Dates; launches film submissions and early bird pass sales this week

The North Bend Film Festival announced this week that it will return for a third annual celebration of cinema, virtual reality and immersive experiences in 2020.

The first four-day festival was well received with its first edition in 2018, and returned with more visiting filmmakers and live events last August. The next edition will take place from August 6 to 9, 2020.

The aim of the festival is to shine a spotlight on previously unseen features and shorts on the film festival circuit that push the boundaries of the art of cinema.

“The programmatic strength of the festival is that we choose films that seek to challenge, innovate and imagine new cinematic possibilities.” says NBFF senior film programmer Joseph Hernandez. “This distinctive mix of programming combined with the iconic town of North Bend is what gives our festival its unique identity.”

The film festival has also enlisted local businesses as showcase venues such as the North Bend Theatre, the new Volition Brewing tasting room and Valley Center Stage, drawing filmmakers, artists, press and the local community to join in the celebration. of the four-day independent film. 2019 also introduced new live events such as “Strange Storytelling Hour” featuring local, Seattle-based and visiting filmmakers to share bizarre stories.

“As we enter 2020, we hope to build on the momentum we have created over the past few years and further define our mission as being something the local community is proud to host,” said Jess Byers, one of the festival-goers. founders.

Early Bird passes are now available for the 2020 edition, with a Special Black Friday launch this Friday 29th November to Sunday 1st December, followed by a Cyber ​​Week discount until next week. For local filmmakers, the festival offers a “PNW” category on their submission portal, allowing discounted rates to support local artists.
