Local Deals, Locations Announced for Sundance ’22
PARK CITY, Utah – On Thursday, the Sundance Film Festival, which runs Jan. 20-30, announced venues’ locations in Utah as well as opportunities for locals.
The festival has a selection of free in-person and online screenings, ticket discounts, student screenings and more for the Utahns.

Free in-person screenings
For residents of Summit and Salt Lake counties and surrounding areas, the Festival will offer the following free screenings.

Additionally, there will be two free Best of Fest screenings in Park City and Salt Lake City on Sunday, January 30, with each venue showcasing a 2022 Festival-winning feature film and non-fiction.
Free online screenings
Utah residents across the state can participate in two free screenings of the Festival’s feature films in the comfort of their own homes.
On Saturday January 22, watch a film during the Festival’s first weekend on the Festival’s online platform.
On Saturday, January 29, locals can reconnect for an award-winning Best of Fest film.
Free screenings for students
The Sundance Institute is offering high school students in Utah the opportunity to watch three feature film screenings and / or view a program of shorts during the Sundance Film Festival, then have a conversation with the artists who have seen it. created on film themes, storytelling, and fabrication. The high school screenings will be available exclusively on the online platform, allowing young moviegoers in Grades 9 to 12 to participate from anywhere in Utah. Reduced rate access to the Festival
For a limited time only, the Salt Lake City package can be purchased at an early bird discount of 20% ($ 100 savings) for $ 400 from December 17, 2021 through January 3, 2022, after which the package price will come back to $ 500. Created for Utah residents, this package offers 10 in-person tickets to film screenings at all Salt Lake City venues, with early access to select tickets, and includes all of the benefits of our Explorer Pass.
Starting Wednesday, January 26, the Festival will offer a 25% discount on single tickets (savings of $ 5) to residents for in-person screenings that will take place on Wednesday, January 26 until the end of the Festival. Utah residents can receive a $ 5 discount for up to four single tickets per person, subject to availability. Utah residents who have created a Sundance account will receive the discount, and tickets can be purchased online or in person at any box office starting Jan. 26 at 8:00 a.m. MT.
Festival venues for 2022 include both theaters and non-theatrical venues. Venues other than the theater will host conversations and events (including live music and panels) – a great place for the convergence of Utah artists. The Festival’s online platform will expand reach by increasing accessibility for audiences across Utah (and beyond).

The 2022 Sundance Film Festival will require in-person attendees to be fully immunized. All vaccinations should be done at least two weeks before the festival. Masks will be mandatory at all times in interior spaces and queues. You can find all of the festival’s Covid protocols here.
