Jakarta Allows Opening Of Karaoke Rooms With Level 2 PPKM


TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The government of Jakarta has authorized the reopening and operation of karaoke rooms, as the authorities impose Level 2 restrictions on community activities (PPKM). The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office has set a maximum indoor visitation capacity of 25%.

“The maximum capacity is 25% of visitors and the use of singing rooms is limited to a maximum of 50% of the number of rooms available,” said bureau chief Andhika Permata in a decree signed on November 29. .

The Tourism Board Decree No. 738/2021 on the Implementation of Level 2 PPKM for the Tourism Business Sector stated that karaoke rooms can open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitors are only allowed to stay in the karaoke rooms for a maximum of three hours.

“They first have to make reservations online and pay cashless,” Andhika said.

All visitors and employees are also required to undergo screening using the PeduliLindung app, as well as implement health protocols. Sites are mandated to periodically disinfect all equipment and supplies in all areas or facilities.

Jakarta is implementing Level 2 PPKM from November 30 to December 13.
