1964 – A premiere of Shyngys Aitmatov’s performance “Ana – Zher-Ana” takes place at the Kazakh Academic Drama Theater.
1992 – School number 139 in the city of Almaty is named after the poet, Turkologist, translator, teacher and public figure Akhmet Baitursynov.
2009 – The summit of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) adopts a decision establishing the Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF). The CRRF is created in order to respond quickly to military and border conflicts, suppress attempted terrorist acts, fight against drug trafficking and other types of organized crime.
2013 – The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Independent State of Samoa sign a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations in New York.
2014 – Kazakh films “Uroki Garmonii” (Lessons in Harmony) directed by Emir Baigazin and “Shal” (Old Man) by Yermek Turssunov win the 32nd Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.
2017 – The then President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signs the decree modifying the borders of the city of Astana (now Nur-Sultan).
2018 – The Astana Hub International IT Startup Technopark is launching a unique free program for talented entrepreneurs where they can be mentored by experienced entrepreneurs.
2019 – Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen scores 98 out of 100 points in the 2nd edition of the World’s Best talent show. Singer Faith Hill, actress Drew Barrymore and actor RuPaul each give Dimash 50 points.
2020 – The Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket with the Fregat-M booster and 34 OneWeb satellites takes off from the 31st Baikonur space center platform.
