Bars/Venues Manager employment with UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHAMPTON

The successful candidate will be responsible for two locations within the Students’ Union, The Stag’s and Under Deck. The Stag’s is our SU pub and is open all year round. It is famous for Thursday night karaoke and showing all the biggest sporting events. We are developing the lunch service to make Stag’s a lively place all day long. Below deck is the bar that feeds our multipurpose space, The Cube. Events held here include club nights, charity events, cinema screenings and more. You will be responsible for a core team of permanent employees as well as a large number of students. The SU is a not-for-profit organization, so all revenue generated is reinvested into funding student union activities.
You will be a licensed trade experienced operator with a strong knowledge of food. You must be passionate about customer service and have a reputation for upholding the highest standards. You must have experience managing a large and diverse team and be able to motivate and engage with all of them equally well. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to manage high volume, large scale events and capitalize on opportunities. The operations we manage require you to have a solid knowledge of health and safety, risk and compliance and licensing laws.
